POLICY FOR 2016-2017
The Studio of Dana Mallory will provide private
piano instruction based on the Wake County Public School Traditional Calendar
with an additional summer session.
Lessons will be provided in Ms. Mallory’s home on Burnley Drive.
Lesson Information:
- Please do not drop your child off more than 10 minutes prior to lessons. I am focused on teaching the child whose lesson time is at hand. Once you drop your child off, he/she is my responsibility. So that each child has my undivided attention, I would appreciate you not leaving your child off prior to 10 minutes to the lesson. You are welcome to wait with your child in my lobby or in your car, but please do not leave them unsupervised more than 10 minutes early. Emergencies and special situations do occur. Please contact me prior to the need of leaving your child early for their lesson.
- Please attend the lesson prepared. Bring all books, your notebook, and have practiced. I am ready to teach when you walk in the door. Be ready to learn!
- Please do not bring food or drink into the lobby. This is also my home and I would appreciate no food or drink. Bottles of water are ok.
- Keep me posted as to what is going on in your life. Private lessons are a very special situation. We learn so much about each other… and from each other. With the one-on-one teaching situation, I am honored to know what is going on with your child to help with their musical and life growing experiences.
Payment information/Makeup lessons:
- The fee schedule below is for 12 lessons per quarter.
- An additional week is included in the calendar the week of January 2nd-5th, 2017 and June 5th-8th, 2017 for the two makeup lessons over the course of one year. Make-up lessons are during your assigned weekly time. This allows for ONE makeup lesson up through the December lessons and ONE for the second half of the year. If your student does not need a makeup lesson, they will not have a lesson during the make-up week. Please mark your calendar with the above dates because they will be the only days for a makeup lesson offered. There will be no additional makeup lessons.
- Also, please be aware that the only time we do NOT have lessons are during Major Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Break and Spring Break). We WILL have lessons on Teacher Workdays and Random one-day holidays.
- In regards to make-up lessons: At least 24 hours notice is required, prior to the upcoming missed lesson, in order to be eligible for the makeup lesson. Please either call (919-395-5178) or email to 88keys@nc.rr.com to inform Ms. Mallory about the missed lesson.
- Severe Weather Policy: If schools are closed and you are able to safely drive your student to lessons, please plan on attending your lesson. Makeup lessons, due to severe weather, will be made up at the discretion of Dana Mallory.
- Summer 2017 quarter dates will be announced during the Spring 2017 quarter session. Flexibility to work around your vacation schedule is offered for the Summer session.
- Below are the payment dates. Please mark them on your calendar. They will be due at your lesson of the stated week.
- Regarding Payments:
- If you do not make your lesson the stated week, forget your payment, or put your payment in the mail please make sure I have received it by Friday of the payment week to keep the $10 late fee from incurring.

Payments are in monthly or quarterly
payments. It can be by personal check,
your bank draft or cash.
